Artillery Barns

Construction of the Artillery Barns began in 1919 and the $25,000 complex was completed in late 1920. They were funded by a 1919 State appropriation to house "horses sent to the University by the Federal Government in connection with the instruction in Military Sciences". [1] By 1935 there were 140 horses stabled in these barns. [2]
