Routing Dispatcher II DEFINITION: Under immediate supervision, to be responsible for the dispatching of craftsmen for routine maintenance, repair, and/or alteration work on University buildings and grounds. D U T I E S BY EXAMPLE: T O receive and dispatch to the appropriate staff and/or craft information relating to requests for service or needed repairs; type work orders and answer inquiries relative to such work; assist Routing Dispatcher III in the setting up of job orders and routine follow-up on such work; assume responsibility for job order work in the absence of Routing Dispatcher I I I ; perform related duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS: High school graduation; special training in typing and clerical work; knowledge of craft jurisdiction and building trades terminology preferable; ability to type accurately and rapidly; at least one year of experience preferably with a building contractor or in a service department of a university or college; tact; ability to cooperate with associates; minimum age eighteen. D U T I E S BY EXAMPLE: To receive and dispatch to the appropriate staff a n d / o r craft, information relating to requests for service or needed repairs; type work orders and answer inquiries relative to such work; assist in the maintenance of job order records; perform related duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS: High school graduation; training in typing; some knowledge of craft jurisdiction and building trades terminology preferable; high clerical aptitude; tact; ability to cooperate with associates; minimum age sixteen. Optical Dispenser DEFINITION: Under supervision of the Chief Ophthalmologist, to be in charge of the Optical Dispensary. D U T I E S BY EXAMPLE: To be in charge of the dispensing of glasses; to supervise employees assigned to this unit; supervise the residents in Ophthalmology in the dispensing of glasses; keep records; give assistance in problems relating to refraction and various optical instruments to members of the department of Ophthalmology; have custody of supplies and equipment; keep inventory; prepare reports; perform related duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS: High school graduation; at least three years of post-high school education with special emphasis on physical optics; at least one year of practical experience in optical dispensing; supervisory ability; minimum age twenty-three. Senior Accelerator Engineer DEFINITION: Under general supervision of research staff, but with a great degree of direct responsibility, to operate and maintain high-energy accelerators. D U T I E S BY EXAMPLE: Assist research staff in setting up and performing experiments; schedule operating personnel; maintain the accelerators; make changes and adjustments as are necessary; under direction of physicists, be responsible for rebuilding and making modifications as need requires; build, or supervise the building of, such auxiliary research apparatus as cloud chambers and analyzer magnets; assist in solving major design problems relating to nuclear physics. QUALIFICATIONS: University graduation with degree in engineering, preferably in physics or electrical engineering; at least three years' experience in electronics or physics; ability to formulate high standards of workmanship and materials; thoroughness; ability to organize, assign, and direct work; accuracy; resourcefulness; good judgment; good physical condition; minimum age twenty-five. Junior Accelerator Engineer DEFINITION: Under supervision of Senior Accelerator Engineer, to assist in the operation and maintenance of an accelerator. D U T I E S BY EXAMPLE: Under the direction of the Senior Accelerator Engineer, to assist research staff in setting up and performing experiments; schedule operating personnel; maintain the accelerators; make changes and adjustments as are neces-
