As to the weight of the slate, I do not believe the roof will be any heavier than that of the other buildings which started with 34" and ended up with %«". In any case the steel as designed was intended to carry the slate specified, 4j4" to the weather. Faithfully, Chaju.es A. Platt On motion of Dr. Noble, the Supervising Architect was authorized to receive bids o n this roof in accordance with M r . Piatt's recommendation.

The low bidder has withdrawn since his bid was submitted. On the basis of the next low bid the cost of the Station House would be $11,563.70, which is so far beyond the appropriation made for this purpose by the Board of September 22, 1926, (Board Minutes—page 124) that Professor White recommends that all bids be rejected. I concur in this recommendation. O n motion of D r . Noble, this recommendation w a s adopted.
