REPORT OP COMMITTEE ON BUILDINGS AND GROUNDS.

URBANA, I I I . , July 14, 1911.

To the Board of Trustees of the University of Illinois: Your Committee on Buildings and Grounds met today at the University, Mr. Abbott, Mrs. Evans, and Mr. Hatch, members of the committee, were present; also Mr. Grout and Mr. Hoit, members of the board, President James, and Professor J. M. White, supervising architect. CLOSING ENTRANCES TO CAMPUS. The committee voted to approve the following recommendation of the Council of Administration, which was referred to this committee, with power to act (see p. 67): That the John street and California avenue entrances to the campus be closed; that Burrill avenue be closed south of the Auditorium; and that a notice barring automobiles and motorcycles be posted at the entrance of Burrill avenue on the south side of Green street. REPAIRS IN COLLEGE OF MEDICINE. Under the authority given to this committee by the Executive Committee t)f the board at its meeting on July 8, 1911 (see page 459 above), this committee has authorized the supervising architect to proceed with the repairs and reconstruction of the building of the College of Medicine, as recommended by him, subject to the approval of the president of the board. RECONSTRUCTION OF FARM MECHANICS BUILDING. Your committee has further instructed the supervising architect to proceed with the reconstruction of the Farm Mechanics building in accordance with the plans submitted, and within the appropriation of $8,000.00 given for this purpose by the Forty-seventh General Assembly and appropriated to the purpose by the board; this matter having been referred to this committee with power to act at the meeting of June 22, 19li (see page 166). Meeting of the Executive Committee July 25, 1911.

A meeting of.the Executive Committee of the Board of Trustees of the University of Illinois was held at the Blackstone hotel, in the city of Chicago, on Tuesday, July 25, 1911. There were present Mr. Abbott and Mr. Grout, members of the committee, Mrs. Bahrenburg, Mrs. Evans, and Mr. Hoit, members of the board, and President James. The president of the University presented the following matters for consideration:
