Flora M. Case, librarian of the Public Library of Elkhart, is president of the Indiana State Association. Mary H. Clay, librarian of Mary Hardin-Baylor College, Belton, Texas, presented a digest of the A.L.A. Friends of the Library groups at a luncheon meeting of the College and Reference Section of the Southwestern Library Association meeting. She also read in the absence of the author, Roy A. Crouch, a paper, "The new curriculum and library planning for the Southwestern states." Fanny A. Coldren, reference librarian of the University of California at Los Angeles, was chairman of the Regional Cooperative Committee of the Southern District of the California Library Association, and at their meeting in November told of the ideal of the committee to have a union catalog of the resources of the district. Will H. Collins, librarian of the Public Library, Akron, is president of the Ohio Library Association. Mabel Conat, associate reference librarian of the Detroit Public Library, read a report on the "Reference librarians questionnaire" before the College and Reference Section at Richmond. Maude Cowan, librarian of the Southwestern State Teachers College, Durant, Okla., arranged a very interesting and elaborate assembly in honor of National Book Week which was presented by the Russell Training School and the Library staff. LeNoir Dimmitt of the University of Texas Library, as president of the Texas Library Association, presided over their meeting in October. Irene M. Doyle, associate professor of library science, George Peabody College for Teachers, is secretary-treasurer of the Tennessee Library Association. She was chairman of the Catalog Section of the Southeastern Library Association at Asheville in October. Francis K. W. Drury is president of the Tennessee Library Association. He gave a talk on non-library activities and interests of librarians before the Public Libraries Section of the Southeastern Library Association in October. Ralph Esterquest, cataloger and reference assistant, Northwestern University Library, spoke before the J.M.R.T. meeting in Chicago on "Library instruction via the movies," telling of the production of the University of Illipi%' film, "Found in a book." Frederick Ford, librarian of Parsons College Library, spoke on the topic, ins of perfecting relations between instructor and library," before the College and University Section of the Iowa Library Association meeting, November 4, 1936. . . .. , _ ...
