Curry has also written seventeen articles—and there are eight more in the series to be written—for the use of El Mina Shrine of Galveston in its state-wide thrift stamp campaign to raise money for the aid of crippled children. The series consists of one article on each of the persons or object*! pictured on the series of stamps. The articles are about 1500 words each; they are being furnished to small newspapers throughout the state. The subjects are these: Houston, Austin, Santa Anna, Fannin, Cynthia Ann Parker, Rusk, 'Three Legged Willie" Williamson, Zavala, Milam, Bowie, Crockett, Travis, J "Deaf" Smith, Anson Jones, Lamar, the first oil well in Texas, Iron Jacket-A ] Comanche Indian, the Alamo, the capitol at Houston, James Bonham, Grayson, the stage coach in Texas, Gail Borden, Ellis P. Bean. These names are prominent in the early days of Texas, many of them being connected with the | Texas Revolution. " " ' " • .
