Jackson Towne, librarian of the Michigan State Agricultural College presided over the business session of the College and Reference .Section and was joint-chairman of the College Librarians' Round Table. Krnold H. Trotier, catalog librarian of the University of Illinois Library presided over the Catalog Section and the Large Libraries Round Table of this section at Richmond. Frances Warner, serials librarian of Iowa State College Library, led the discussion of "Discarding and disposal of books" at the College and University Section of the Iowa Library Association meeting, November 4, 1936. She was also appointed to the Library Extension Committee of the Iowa Library Association. Jerome K. Wilcox, head of the order department of Duke University, spoke before the Business and Technology Section of the A.L.A. at Richmond on "Sources of information about new government activities." See A.L.A. Conference Proceedings, p. 658-666. Opal Williams, librarian of the East Texas State Teachers College, Commerce, is giving a one-hour semester library course required for all freshmen; also two- and three-hour courses in school libraries to meet the minimum essentials for teachers required by the Southern Association of Colleges and Secondary Schools. Lelia S. Wilson, librarian of the travelling libraries of the Iowa State ibrary Commission, was appointed to the Library Extension Committee of the Iowa Library Association at the meeting November 4, 1936. On December 22, Miss Wilson talked on "Poetry for the home and holidays." Ola M. Wyeth, librarian of the Savannah Public Library, was chairman of the Public Libraries Section of the Southeastern Library Association when it met last October. ALUMNI
