„ Miriam Eliza Carey, 1898-99, died at the home of her brother-in-law Mr. E G. Abbott, on January 9, 1937, at Cheyenne, Wyoming. Her illness was brief and her death due to influenza.

In 1913, she accepted the newly created position of Supervisor Institution Libraries with the Minnesota State Board of Control From 1918-19 she was the field director for the A.L.A. war service of all hospital braries in Tennessee, Georgia, Florida, Alabama and North and South CaroShe returned to her position with the Minnesota State Board of Control nd was there until she resigned in 1927.
