I recommend that these funds be appropriated by the Board for the purposes indicated. SPECIAL APPROPRIATIONS FOR N O N R E C U R R I N G EXPENDITURES

(8) The Committee on Nonrecurring Appropriations recommends assignments of funds as follows: 1. Research facilities in proposed sewage disposal plant at the University of Illinois Airport for the Department of Civil Engineering $5 825 2. Remodeling in Talbot Laboratory for the Department of Theoretical and Applied Mechanics 2 000 3. Installation of liquid nitrogen plant, additional funds 5 9°° 4. Improvements in Alumni Records 3 000 5. Calculating machines for the Department of Public Health, College of Medicine, this assignment to be made from the Chicago Professional Colleges' nonrecurring funds 3 75° I recommend that these appropriations be made from the General Reserve Fund, except as indicated in the last item. APPROPRIATION FROM AGRICULTURAL RECEIPTS

(9) On February 15, 1951, the Board of Trustees made an appropriation of $50,000 to the College of Agriculture for remodeling and equipment, of which amount $5,000 was allocated for the construction of a house for an employee at the Dixon Springs Experiment Station in southern Illinois. The Chairman of the Dixon Springs Experiment Station, the Dean o£ the College of Agriculture, and the Comptroller recommend a supplementary appropriation of $3,500 from excess receipts over estimated income of the Dixon Springs Experiment Station for this project, and a supplementary appropriation of $4,000 for current operations. I recommend an appropriation of $7,500 from Unappropriated Agricultural Income of the Dixon Springs Experiment Station for these purposes.
