Releases Nos. 67, 68, and 69 "Contingencies to cover expenditures for purposes for which the amount appropriated in any item above enumerated is, or becomes insufficient" 190 000 67. Construction of addition to present hospital $122 000 68. Land—acquisition of land for the extension of the campus 20 000 69. Equipment for buildings at Urbana-Champaign and Chicago 48 000 These are final releases from an appropriation of $550,000 for contingencies. I recommend that these funds be appropriated by the Board for the purposes indicated. On motion of Mrs. Watkins, these funds were appropriated, as recommended, by the following vote: Aye, Mr. Fornof, Mr. Grange, Mr. Herrick, Mrs. Holt, Mr. Johnston, Mr. Livingston, Mr. Megran, Mr. Nickell, Mrs. Watkins; no, none; absent, Mr. Hickman, Mr. Stevenson.

SPECIAL APPROPRIATIONS FOR N O N R E C U R R I N G EXPENDITURES

(8) The Committee on Nonrecurring Appropriations recommends assignments of funds as follows: 1. Research facilities in proposed sewage disposal plant at the University of Illinois Airport for the Department of Civil Engineering $5 825 2. Remodeling in Talbot Laboratory for the Department of Theoretical and Applied Mechanics 2 000 3. Installation of liquid nitrogen plant, additional funds 5 9°° 4. Improvements in Alumni Records 3 000 5. Calculating machines for the Department of Public Health, College of Medicine, this assignment to be made from the Chicago Professional Colleges' nonrecurring funds 3 75° I recommend that these appropriations be made from the General Reserve Fund, except as indicated in the last item. On motion of Mr. Megran, these appropriations were made, as recommended, by the following vote: Aye, Mr. Fornof, Mr. Grange, Mr. Herrick, Mrs. Holt, Mr. Johnston, Mr. Livingston, Mr. Megran, Mr. Nickell, Mrs. "Watkins; no, none; absent, Mr. Hickman, Mr. Stevenson.

APPROPRIATION FROM AGRICULTURAL RECEIPTS

(9) On February 15, 1951, the Board of Trustees made an appropriation of $50,000 to the College of Agriculture for remodeling and equipment, of which amount $5,000 was allocated for the construction of a house for an employee at the Dixon Springs Experiment Station in southern Illinois. The Chairman of the Dixon Springs Experiment Station, the Dean o£ the College of Agriculture, and the Comptroller recommend a supplementary appropriation of $3,500 from excess receipts over estimated income of the Dixon Springs Experiment Station for this project, and a supplementary appropriation of $4,000 for current operations. I recommend an appropriation of $7,500 from Unappropriated Agricultural Income of the Dixon Springs Experiment Station for these purposes. On motion of Mrs. Holt, this appropriation was made, as recommended, by the following vote: Aye, Mr. Fornof, Mr. Grange, Mr. Herrick, Mrs. Holt, Mr. Johnston, Mr. Livingston, Mr. Megran, Mr. Nickell, Mrs. "Watkins; no, none; absent, Mr. Hickman, Mr. Stevenson.
