CONTRACTS FOR POWER PLANT ADDITION (12) The Director of the Physical Plant and the Comptroller recommend award of contracts for the erection of the turbine generator and for the installation of all necessary piping in the addition to the Abbott Power Plant at Urbana as follows: Erection of turbine generator — General Electric Co., Chicago $ 7 000 Piping systems to include the furnishing and installation of the steam, water, condensate, compressed air, turbine oil, fuel piping, and equipment — William A. Pope Co., Chicago 104 289 These are the lowest bidders on each contract. Funds are available in the state appropriation "For Permanent Improvements in Champaign-Urbana — Addition to Power and Heating Plant and Remodeling of Existing Buildings." I concur and recommend that the Comptroller and the Secretary of the Board be authorized to execute these contracts, subject to the release of funds by the Governor. On motion of Dr. Meyer, authority was given as recommended. CONTRACT FOR POWER PLANT PIPING INSULATION (14) The Director of the Physical Plant and the Comptroller recommend the award of a contract for $9,789 to Jamar-Olmen Company, Chicago, the lowest bidder, for the insulation of all piping for the new turbine generator at the Abbott Power Plant in Urbana, and insulation for piping for the oil firing of two existing boilers. Funds are available in the state appropriation "For Permanent Improvements at Urbana-Champaign — Additions to Power and Heating Plants and Remodeling of Existing Buildings." I concur and recommend that the Comptroller and the Secretary of the Board be authorized to execute the contract subject to release of funds by the Governor.
