Residents are charged one-half of the stated fees, but in the judgment of officials of the College of Dentistry this is too low and they believe there should be no differential in fees charged for these self-sustaining professional programs. I recommend approval.

On motion of Mr. Livingston, these fees were authorized.

RELEASE O F F U N D S FOR BUILDINGS A N D OTHER CAPITAL IMPROVEMENTS

(7) The Governor has approved the following releases of funds from appropriations made to the University of Illinois for 1949-1951 for buildings and other capital improvements. Release No. 32 "For Permanent Improvements at Urbana-Champaign — Construction of agricultural structures and remodeling present agricultural

buildings" $270 000

This is a partial release from an appropriation of $290,000. The Governor has previously released (Release No. 9) $20,000 for architectural and engineering services for this project. The funds now-released are for the construction of agricultural structures and remodeling present agricultural buildings at Urbana-Champaign. Release No. 33 "For Contingencies to cover expenditures for purposes for which the amount in any item above enumerated is, or becomes insufficient".. 15 000 This is a partial release from an appropriation of $250,000 and the $15,000 released is to supplement Release No. 32 for the construction of agricultural structures and remodeling present agricultural buildings. Release No. 34 "For Contingencies to cover expenditures for purposes for which the amount appropriated in any item above enumerated is, or becomes insufficient" 200 000 This is a partial release from an appropriation of $550,000 and the $200,000 now released is to supplement Release No. 29 for the acquisition of land for the extension of the campus at Urbana-Champaign. Release No. 35 "For Permanent Improvements at Chicago — Construction of Utility Distribution System and remodeling of existing buildings" 31 705 This is a partial release from an appropriation of $190,000. The Governor has previously released (Releases Nos. 10, 26, and 28) $56,087 from this appropriation and also (Release No. 21) $07,790 from the appropriation of $550,000 for "Contingencies" for the remodeling of quarters for the Department of Biological Chemistry in the Dentistry, Medicine, and Pharmacy Building in Chicago. The funds now released are for the extension of the electrical distribution system. Release No. 36 "For Permanent Improvements at Urbana-Champaign — Additions to Power and Heating Plant and remodeling of existing buildings"... 181 078 This is a partial release from an appropriation of $1,215,000. The Governor has previously released (Releases Nos. 6, 13, 16, 24, and 30) $804,344 for various parts of the addition to the Power Plant,
