These proposed improvements have been carefully studied by the Committee on Nonrecurring Appropriations. Its reports giving details of the reasons for these improvements are submitted herewith.

On motion of Mrs. Watkins, these funds were appropriated as recommended, by the following vote: Aye, Mr. Fornof, Mr. Herrick, Mrs. Holt, Dr. Meyer, Mrs. Watkins, Mr. Williamson; no, none; absent, Mr. Hickman, Mr. Livingston, Mr. McLaughlin, Mr. Nickell, Mr. Stevenson.

CONTRACT FOR PAVING OF TERRACES AT LINCOLN AVENUE RESIDENCE (7) The Director of the Physical Plant and the Comptroller recommend award of a contract for $12,254 to C. A. Petry and Sons, Champaign, the lowest bidder, for the construction of paved terraces on either side of the front entrance to the Lincoln Avenue Residence. This is a part of the original plans for the building but was not included in previous construction contracts. Funds are available. I concur and recommend that the Comptroller and the Secretary of the Board be authorized to execute this contract. O n m o t i o n of M r . F o r n o f , t h i s c o n t r a c t w a s a u t h o r i z e d a s r e c o m mended. CONTRACT FOR CLEANING AND TUCK POINTING WALLS OF CHICAGO PROFESSIONAL COLLEGES BUILDINGS (8) The Director of the Physical Plant and the Comptroller recommend award of a contract for $7,395 to Herman E. Iverson, Chicago, the lowest bidder, for cleaning and tuck pointing the exterior walls of the Medical, Dental, Orthopaedic, and the Illini Union Buildings of the Chicago Professional Colleges. This is necessary maintenance work to keep the buildings in good condition. Funds are available in the Physical Plant Department budget. I concur and recommend that the Comptroller and the Secretary of the Board be authorized to execute this contract.

On motion of Mrs. Holt, authority was given as recommended.

CONTRACTS FOR ALTERATIONS IN UTILITIES DISTRIBUTION SYSTEM AT THE CHICAGO PROFESSIONAL COLLEGES (9) The Director of the Physical Plant and the Comptroller recommend award of contracts for alterations in the utilities distribution system at the Chicago P r o fessional Colleges as follows: E. P . Allison and Company, Chicago $5 6°° For alterations in electrical supply lines to the Illinois Surgical Institute, or Orthopaedic Building, of the Research and Educational Hospitals.
