CONTRACT FOR PURCHASE O F COAL FOR URBANA-CHAMPAIGN 1 9 4 6 - 1 9 4 7 (22) Coal requirements for t h e Urbana-Champaign Power Plant for 1946-1947 aggregate thirty t o thirty-five thousand tons of screenings. Formal requests and specifications were submitted to a number of sources and advertisements were run in Chicago papers. No bids were received on our specifications. Bids were then sought on any basis on which vendors would bid. Approval of this recommendation is requested. Under the requirements of the Constitution, t h e approval of t h e Governor also is required on such a contract.
