Twenty and 24/100 Dollars ($21,020.24) " n full payment of distributive share due us under the terms of the Last Will and Testament of the said Harry G. Wright, deceased; and we do hereby enter our appearance, waive notice of the hearing on the final report and final account of said Executors, and consent to the approval thereof and to the discharge of said Executors from all further duties and responsibilities in connection with said estate. Dated this twenty-fifth day of July, 1044. BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE Attest: UNIVERSITY OF ILLINOIS By Secretary President AGREEMENT In consideration of the distribution to us from the estate of Harry G. Wright, deceased, of the sum of Twenty-one Thousand Twenty and 24/100 Dollars ($21,020.24), we, the undersigned Board of Trustees of the University of Illinois, do hereby agree to pay sixty-five percent (65%) of any additional income taxes assessed against the estate of Harry G. Wright, deceased; and to indemnify and hold harmless the estate of Harry G. Wright, deceased, and R. F. McCormick and H. D. Fisk, as Executors of the last Will and Testament of said Harry G. Wright, or either of them, from sixty-five percent (65%) of any damages, suits, causes of action or claims by the United States of America, or any agency thereof, by reason of any additional assessment of income taxes against said estate. This agreement shall be binding upon our successors and assigns. In witness whereof we have caused these presents to be signed by our President and attested by our Secretary, in duplicate this twenty-fifth day of July, A.D. 1944. Fisk, who was introduced for the discussion of this item, stated that in his opinion there would be no further income taxes assessed, and that he had secured releases from all the beneficiaries of the estate of H a r r y G. Wright, deceased. On motion of M r . Davis, the Comptroller was authorized to accept a cheque for $21,020.24 as full payment of the distributive share due the University in the estate of H a r r y G. W r i g h t , deceased, and the President and the Secretary were authorized to sign a receipt for the same and to execute an agreement to pay sixty-five per cent of any additional income taxes assessed against this estate.

KERST-SERBER PATENT

T h e Secretary presented a proposal that the University tender the K e r s t - S e r b e r discovery ( S e r . N o . 534,060) to the Government of the U n i t e d States for its use. T h e Board heretofore approved the issuance to the Government of the kind of license described in the contract ( O E M 241). J u d g e Johnson advised against the execution of such a tender, stating that the contract provides for a royalty-free license to the Government, with the right in the University to elect to own and control t h e patent application subject to applicable acts concerning secrecy in the national interest during the emergency. O n motion of M r . Jensen, the following resolution was adopted:
