CONTRACTS FOR ADDITION TO ABBOTT POWER PLANT (15) The Director of the Physical Plant and the Vice-President and Comptroller recommend award of contracts to the following lowest bidders for the construe, tion of an addition (Unit No. 7, Boiler No. 6) to the Abbott Power Plant; General— Snyder Construction Company, Inc., Vincennes, Indiana $436 ^ Plumbing — Beilis and Miller, Inc., Champaign 23 68? Submitted herewith is a supporting memorandum from the Physical P l ^ Department, including lists of the bids taken, and a copy is being filed wilh rlie Secretary of the Board for record. Funds are available in the state capital appropriations to the University for 1959-61 and have been released. I concur.

On motion of Mr. Swain, these contracts were awarded, as recommended, by the following vote: Aye, Mr. Clement, Mr. Dilliard, Mr Hughes, Mr. Johnston, Mr. Pogue, Mr. Swain, Mrs. Watkins, Mr. Wilkins, Mr. Williamson; no, none; absent, Mr. Harewood, Mr. Kerner.

CONTRACTS FOR REMODELING OF ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING ANNEX (16) The Director of the Physical Plant and the Vice-President and Comptroller recommend award of contracts as follows, the award in each case being to the lowest bidder, for remodeling of the Electrical Engineering Annex: General — C. H. Langman and Son, Rock Island $58 862 Electrical — Neal Morton Electric, Champaign 18 914 Plumbing — Thomas Plumbing and Heating Company, Urbana 7 214 Heating and Refrigeration — F, R. Inskip and Company, Champaign 11 121 Ventilating — R. H. Bishop Company, Champaign 29 61!) To reduce the costs of this remodeling, adjustments have been negotiated with the lowest bidders to reduce their contract prices by the following amounts: General $ 2 333 Electrical t& Plumbing 42* Heating and Refrigeration . 55" Ventilating 15% Total $ 5 59! I t is recommended that the contracts be awarded on the base bids, the adjti-iments to be effected through deductive change orders. Funds are available in an appropriation of $74,425 from the General Resem made by the Board of Trustees on September 21, 1960; a matching federal pant of $74,425 from the National Institutes of Health under the Health Research Facilities Act; assignments to the Department of Electrical Engineering from Indirect Costs recovered under research contracts, $2,019; and the College ot Engineering contingency fund, $2,100, Submitted herewith is a report from the Physical Plant Department on this project, including a schedule of the bids received, a copy of which is being filed with the Secretary of the Board for record. I concur.

CONTRACT FOR CAMPUS DEVELOPMENT CONSULTING SERVICES (17) The firm of Sasaki, Walker, and Associates, Watertown, Massachtiselts. has been employed by authority of the Board of Trustees for consulting services in the area of long-range campus and landscape development. The services haw been extremely valuable in planning coordination of various improvement project and, in view of the future building program, there is continuing need for su® professional consulting services.
