CONTRACTS FOR CONSTRUCTION OF SMALL HOMES C O U N C I L BUILDING (25) T h e Director of the Physical Plant and the Vice-President and Comptroller recommend award of the following contracts for construction of a new building for the Small Homes Council-Building Research Council to be located on the south side of St. Mary's Road east of St. Mary's Cemetery, the award in each case to the lowest bidder: General— Dean Evans Co., Champaign Base bid $65 469 00 Additive alternates for construction of full basement under north wing 1 500 00 and installation of five-eighths inch gypsum wall board in lieu of one-half inch material 600 00 $67 569 00 Electric— G. L. Wilsky, an individual doing business as Downtown Electric, Urbana 13 025 00 Plumbing — Illini Plumbing and Heating, Inc., Champaign 8 235 00 Heating, Air Conditioning, and Ventilating — Petry Roofing and Sheet Metal Co., Champaign 10 180 00 Total $99 009 00 It is further recommended that all contracts other than the general contract be assigned to the contractor for general work, making the total of the latter contract $99,009, and it is further recommended that an agreement be entered into with Dean Evans Co., Champaign, for the assignment of these contracts to that firm for the sum of $1,000, which amount is included in the contract price, this being the amount bid by that firm in the appropriate space on the proposal form for service charges for supervision of other contracts by the general contractor. Funds are available in the Universities Building F"und and state capital appropriations to the University for 1965-67 and have been released. Submitted herewith is a report from the Physical Plant Department, including a schedule of the bids received, a copy of which is being filed with the Secretary of the Board for record. I concur.

On motion of Mr. Swain, these contracts were awarded by the following vote: Aye, Mr. Clement, Mr. Grimes, Mr. Hahn, Mr. Hughes, Mr. Johnston, Mr. Pogue, Mr. Swain, Dr. Weatherly; no, none; absent, Mr. Jones, Governor Kerner, Mr. Page.

CONTRACTS FOR REMODELING BASEMENT OF 8 0 1 SOUTH WRIGHT STREET. CHAMPAIGN (26) The Director of the Physical Plant and the Vice-President and Comptroller recommend the assignment of $80,520 from Contract Research Reserve and the award of the following contracts, based on the percentage bids for contractors' fees, for remodeling the basement of the 801 South Wright Street building, Champaign, which will be used for the Insurance Office and the Auditing Division of the Business Office. The award in each case is to the lowest bidder.
