Authority be, and it hereby is, requested to award to The Nu-Way Contracting Corp., Chicago, Illinois, a contract for the total work for the installation and construction of underground piping for steam service to the Library Air Conditioning Center at Urbana-Champaign for the fixed price of $33,000. Be It, and It Hereby Is, Further Resolved by The Board of Trustees of the University of Illinois, a public corporation of the State of Illinois, that the Comptroller and the Secretary of this public corporation be, and they hereby are, authorized to make, execute, acknowledge, and deliver in the name and in behalf of this corporation, such instruments of lease, contract, and other documents as are necessary or appropriate in order to provide for the carrying out of the foregoing project and facility by the Illinois Building Authority.

On motion of Dr. Weatherly, these recommendations were approved and the foregoing resolution was adopted; these actions were taken by the following vote: Aye, Mr. Clement, Mr. Grimes, Mr. Hahn, Mr. Hughes, Mr. Johnston, Mr. Jones, Mr. Page, Mr. Pogue, Mr. Swain, Dr. Weatherly; no, none; absent, Governor Kerner.

REQUEST TO ILLINOIS BUILDING AUTHORITY TO CONTRACT FOR CONSTRUCTION OF PSYCHOLOGY BUILDING. URBANA (12) On February 7, 1967, the Illinois Building Authority received bids on all work for the construction of the Psychology Building, also referred to as the Psychology Laboratory, at Urbana-Champaign. The lowest bidder is Kuhne-Simmons Co., Inc., Champaign, with a base bid of $5,549,000. Three other proposals were received with bids ranging from $5,674,500 to $6,198,912. The lowest bidder is fully qualified and has performed satisfactorily under contract with the University in the past. The Psychology Building is one project of those which the Board of Trustees on September 22, 1965, requested the Illinois Building Authority to provide. The Authority has acquired the land and leased it to the University and will finance the construction and lease the building to the University. State appropriations are available for the rental payments. The Director of the Physical Plant and the Vice-President and Comptroller recommend that the Board request the Illinois Building Authority to award a contract for the subject work to the lowest bidder and proceed to procure this facility for the use of the University. I concur and recommend adoption of the following resolution. Inc., Champaign, Illinois, a contract for the total work for the construction of the "Psychology Building at Urbana-Champaign," for the fixed price of $5,549,000.
