lowest bidder is Bobbe & Company, Chicago, with a bid of $6,360. Four other bids were received: Pyramid Decorating Company, Chicago $ 6 960 00 Wm. S. Alt & Son, Chicago 7 388 00 National Decorating Service, Chicago 8 965 00 Chicago Painting Service, Inc., Chicago 10 048 00 The lowest bidder is deemed fully qualified to perform this work. The project is a part of Phase II construction which the Board, at its Executive Committee meeting on September 2, 1965, requested the Illinois Building Authority to provide. The Authority will finance the construction and lease the facilities to the University. State appropriations are available for the rental payments. The University will transfer jurisdiction of the land on which the project will be constructed to the Authority. The Director of the Physical Plant and the Vice-President and Comptroller recommend that the Board request the Illinois Building Authority to award a contract for the described work to the lowest bidder and proceed to procure this facility for the use of the University. I concur and recommend the adoption of the following resolution. Resolution Be It, and It Hereby Is, Resolved by The Board of Trustees of the University of Illinois, a public corporation of the State of Illinois, that the Illinois Building Authority be, and it hereby is, requested to award to Bobbe & Company, 1335 North Halsted Street, Chicago, Illinois, a contract for the field finish painting in the Utilties Center Addition at the Chicago Circle, Phase II, for the fixed price of $6,360.00. Be It, and It Hereby Is, Resolved by The Board of Trustees of the University of Illinois, a public corporation of the State of Illinois, that the Comptroller and Secretary of this public corporation be, and they hereby are, authorized to make, execute, acknowledge and deliver, in the name and in behalf of this corporation, such instruments of transfer, conveyance, lease, contract, and other documents as are necessary and appropriate in order to provide for the carrying out of the foregoing project and facility by the Illinois Building Authority. C O N T R A C T S FOR D O O R R E P L A C E M E N T AND REMODELING AND E N C L O S I N G STAIRWAYS IN THE G E N E R A L HOSPITAL AND N E U R O P S Y C H I A T R Y INSTITUTE (14) The Director of the Physical Plant and the Vice-President and Comptroller recommend award of contracts for door replacement and remodeling and enclosing stairways in the General Hospital and Neuropsychiatry Institute at the Medical Center, the award in each case to the lowest bidder. General — R. E. Duggan Construction Co., Evanston $48 500 00 Electrical — Schaeffer Electric Co., Division of Sam Schaeffer Co., Chicago 1 198 00 $49 698 00 The work provides for remodeling and enclosing stairways and installation of fire doors together with necessary revisions to electrical door switches. Funds are available from state capital appropriations for 1965-67 and have been released. Submitted herewith is a report from the Physical Plant Department, including a schedule of bids received, a copy of which is being filed with the Secretary of the Board for record. I concur.
