CONTRACT FOR REROOF1NG LINCOLN HALL, URBANA (10) The Director of the Physical Plant and the Vice-President and Comptroller recommend award of a contract for $96,334, being the summation of the base bid and deductive alternate, to Lloyd Hitchins, an individual doing business as Hitchins Roofing Company, Urbana, the lowest bidder, for reroofing Lincoln Hall. The work will include removal of the existing slate roofing, copper flashing, gutters, and downspouts, and replacement of same. Funds are available in the Physical Plant Department maintenance budget. I concur.

CONTRACT FOR UNDERGROUND STEAM SERVICE, URBANA (11) On February 9, 1967, the Illinois Building Authority received bids for the construction and installation of underground piping for steam service to the Library Air-Conditioning Center at Urbana-Champaign. At the same time and place The Board of Trustees of the University of Illinois received bids for a similar steam service project in the immediate vicinity and an alternate bid was received in each case from all contractors providing for an award of the contract for each project in combination with the other project. The lowest bidder for each project on the basis of the alternate bid price was The Nu-Way Contracting Corp., Chicago, with a firm alternate bid price of $33,000 for the underground piping for steam service to the Library Air-Conditioning Center and $82,500 for underground steam piping for replacement of steam service to David Kinley Hall, the Surveying Building, and the Architecture Building. The Library Air-Conditioning Center will serve the Undergraduate Library and the Psychology Building, both of which are being constructed by the Illinois Building Authority in accordance with the request submitted by the Board of Trustees on September 22, 1965. The Director of the Physical Plant and the Vice-President and Comptroller recommend that a contract be awarded to The Nu-Way Contracting Corp., Chicago, in the amount of the alternate bid price of $82,500 for installation and construction of the replacement of steam service to David Kinley Hall, the Surveying Building, and the Architecture Building and that the Board request the Illinois Building Authority to award a contract for the construction and installation of underground piping for steam service to the Library Air-Conditioning Center to The Nu-Way Contracting Corp., Chicago, in the amount of its firm alternate bid price of $33,000 and proceed to procure this facility for the use of the University. I concur and recommend adoption of the following resolution.
