recommended that the new lease be for the period July 1, 1969, through June 30, 1970, with the option of renewing at the same rate for the period July 1, 1970, through June 30, 1971. The monthly rental for this space is $1,940, or an annual charge of $23,280.

On motion of Mr. Hahn, this recommendation was approved by the following vote: Aye, Mr. Clement, Mr. Grimes, Mr. Hahn, Mr. Hughes, Mr. Jones, Mr. Pogue, Mr. Swain; no, none; absent, Governor Ogilvie, Mr. Page, Mr. Steger.

PUBLICITY SERVICES FOR ASSEMBLY HALL, URBANA (20) The President of the University, with the concurrence of appropriate administrative officers, recommends continuation of the services of Herbert J, Dotten, Promotional Manager, P a r k Forest, for preparation of promotional material and for professional counsel for programs in the Assembly Hall during the period from August 18, 1969, through June 17, 1970, for a total fee of $13,750. Funds are available in the operating budget of the Assembly Hall.

On motion of Mr. Grimes, this recommendation was approved by the following vote: Aye, Mr. Clement, Mr. Grimes, Mr. Hahn, Mr. Hughes, Mr. Jones, Mr. Pogue, Mr. Swain; no, none; absent, Governor Ogilvie, Mr. Page, Mr. Steger.

TELEVISION SERVICE FOR RESEARCH AND EDUCATIONAL HOSPITALS, MEDICAL CENTER (21) The President of the University, with the concurrence of appropriate administrative officers, has recommended that the Board authorize an agreement with Wells Television, Inc., New York City, which will make it possible for patients in the Research and Educational Hospitals to rent television sets at a cost of $1.75 per day. According to the terms of the proposed agreement, Wells Television, Inc. would install a master antenna system and provide television sets and service. The period of the contract would be six years and the University would receive a percentage of rentals collected per day as follows: 15 per cent of the first thirty-six rentals, 33 per cent of the next nineteen rentals, and 50 per cent of all rentals over fifty-five. The estimated annual income from rentals would be $16,000. At the end of the six-year agreement, the antenna system would become the property of the University. Should the University elect to terminate this agreement prior to the end of the six-year period, a charge of $30,000 would be made, reduced by $5,000 for each full year that the agreement was in effect, to cover the unamortized cost of the antenna.

On motion of Mr. Swain, this recommendation was approved by the following vote: Aye, Mr. Clement, Mr. Grimes, Mr. Hahn, Mr. Hughes, Mr. Jones, Mr. Pogue, Mr. Swain; no, none; absent, Governor Ogilvie, Mr. Page, Mr. Steger.

INCREASE IN HOSPITAL-MEDICAL-SURGICAL FEE, URBANA (22) The President of the University, with the concurrence of appropriate administrative officers and the University Committee on Fees, recommends the following increases in the Hospital-Medical-Surgical fee to be effective September 1, 1969, at the Urbana-Champaign campus only : 1. An increase in the total Hospital-Medical-Surgical fee from the present $16.00 per semester or summer session to an amount of $18.00 per semester or summer session. This fee as increased shall include a student fee of $8.00 for McKinley Hopital, The McKinley Hospital fee shall be assessed to all students not now totally exempt from the Hospital-Medical-Surgical fee and shall not be subject to waiver because of other insurance coverage. The balance of the HospitalMedical-Surgical fee of $10.00 per semester or summer session shall be used for the purchase and administration of a medical insurance program for students and may be waived upon the presentation of evidence of insurance coverage equivalent to the University program.
