CONTRACTS FOR MINOR REMODELING AND NEW CONSTRUCTION, URBANA (16) The President of the University, with the concurrence of appropriate administrative officers, recommends the award of cost-plus contracts for minor remodeling and new construction on the Urbana campus for the period July 1, 1969, through June 30, 1971, to the following low bidders for eight divisions of work: General — Dean Evans Co., a Delaware Corporation, Champaign Electrical — Remco Electrical Corporation, a Delaware Corporation, Champaign Plumbing — Willis H . Thomas & Wren C. Thomas, a partnership, doing business as Thomas Plumbing & Heating Co., Urbana Heating, Piping, and Refrigeration — Reliable Plumbing & Heating Company, a Delaware Corporation, Champaign Ventilation and Distribution Systems for Conditioned Air — David W. Reichard Plumbing & Heating Co., Inc., an Illinois Corporation, Urbana Automatic Temperature Control Systems — Barber-Colman Company, an Illinois Corporation, Rockford Insulation — Champaign A & K Insulation Company, a Kentucky Corporation, Champaign Plastering, Plaster Patching and Repairs, and Acoustical — George S. Grimmett, an individual doing business as Geo. S. Grimmett & Co., Springfield These contracts are for work which does not justify the cost of preparing separate drawings and specifications and of separate bidding procedures on each project estimated to cost less than $25,000. The several contractors bid on percentages to be added to actual material, labor, subcontractors and estimated tool and equipment rental volume costs, and the awards recommended are to the lowest bidders. The work will be done as ordered by the Department of Plant and Services, and will be paid for on the basis of the actual cost of each job plus contractor's fees. A report including a schedule of bids received showing the fee percentages to be added for work to be executed under these cost-plus contracts is submitted herewith, and a copy is being filed with the Secretary of the Board for record as the basis for the contract awards recommended. No assignment of funds is requested, as each job will be covered by a contract change order charged against funds allocated for the project. It is further recommended that the Vice President and Comptroller be authorized to approve orders under these contracts on projects up to $25,000. O n m o t i o n of M r .
