MEETING O F T H E E X E C U T I V E COMMITTEE MAY 28, 1940 A meeting of the Executive Committee of the Board of Trustees of the University of Illinois was held at the University, in Urbana, on Tuesday, May 28, 1940, immediately following the adjournment of the meeting of the Board on the same day. Mr. Harold Pogue, Chairman, and Mrs. Glenn E. Plumb, member, of the Executive Committee, Mr. Frank A. Jensen, Dr. Karl A. Meyer, and Mr. Louis C. Moschel, members of the Board, and the officers of the University enumerated above were present.

MATTERS PRESENTED BY PRESIDENT WILLARD

The Executive Committee considered the following matters presented by the President of the University.

AUTHORITY TO CONFER DEGREES IN J U N E A N D AUGUST (1) A request for authority to confer degrees in June and in August on candidates who will complete requirements for degrees and who will be recommended for such degrees by the University Senate at its meeting on June 3, 1040.

On motion of Mrs. Plumb, this authority was granted.

APPOINTMENT OF FRED J O H N DUNCOMBE TO BOARD O F EXAMINERS (2) T h e Committee on Accountancy recommends the appointment of Mr. Fred John Duncombe, of the firm of George Rossetter and Company, 33 North Uncludea estimate of $351 for "Sparhawk" rug not included in proposal. All prices are based on complete installation.
