BOARD OF TRUSTEES APPROPRIATION TO OFFICE OF EXECUTIVE DEAN

[April 25

( u ) A recommendation that an appropriation of $225 be made from the General Reserve Fund to the Office of the Executive Dean of the Chicago Colleges for the purchase of office equipment. O n motion of M r . Moschel, this appropriation was made as recommended, by the following vote: Aye, M r . Cleary, M r . Jensen, Mr. K a r r a k e r , M r . Mayer, D r . Meyer, M r . Moschel, Mr. P o g u e ; no, none: absent, M r . A d a m s , Mr. H o r n e r , M r s . Plumb, M r . Wieland.

ADJUSTMENT IN BUDGET OF COLLEGE OF EDUCATION

(12) A recommendation that the budget of the College of Education be increased from $9,000 to $10,657 to provide for the salaries and other incidental expenses of additional cooperating teachers to supervise the practice teaching program of that College due to increased registrations in the various practice teaching courses. An appropriation of $1,657 should be made for the current year. Provision has been made in the budget for 1940-1941 for these additional services. O n motion of M r . Jensen, this appropriation was made as recommended, by the following vote: Aye, M r . Cleary, Mr. Jensen, Mr. K a r r a k e r , Mr. Mayer, D r . ADJUSTMENTS IN BUDGET FOR 1939-1940

(13) In approving the budget for 1939-1940 the Board authorized the President of the University to make such changes and adjustments as are necessary. Pursuant to this authorization the following adjustment was made in the operating budget during the third fiscal quarter, ending March 31, 1940: Medicine and dentistry library salaries (increase in salary of Margaret M. Bates) $100 I recommend that an appropriation of $100 be made from the General Reserve Fund to cover this adjustment. O n motion of Mr. Moschel, this appropriation was made as recommended, by the following vote: Aye, M r . Cleary, M r . Jensen, Mr. K a r r a k e r , M r . Mayer, Dr. Meyer, Mr. Moschel, M r . SPECIAL APPROPRIATIONS AND NON-RECURRING EXPENDITURES

(14) The Committee on Special Appropriations and Non-Recurring Expenditures recommends assignments from the General Reserve Fund for the following purposes: Purchase of 2 national colors, 4 additional standards, and 5 regimental standards $613 50 Remodeling in Talbot Laboratory 420 00 O n motion of Mr. Cleary, these appropriations were made as recommended, by the following vote: Aye, Mr, Cleary, Mr. Jensen, Mr. K a r r a k e r , M r . ADJUSTMENTS IN THE BUDGET OF THE ATHLETIC ASSOCIATION

(15) The Board of Directors of the Athletic Association at its meeting April 2, 1940, made the following appropriations from unassigned funds of Association, which represent adjustments in its budget for 1939-1940 and submitted to the Board of Trustees for approval: 1.
