UNIVERSITY OF ILLINOIS ADJUSTMENT IN DAIRY HUSBANDRY BUDGET

The Comptroller, on request of President Willard, presented a recommendation that $1,515.89 of accrued receipts of the Department of Dairy Husbandry be appropriated for the use of the department. On motion of Dr. Meyer, this appropriation was made, by the following vote: Aye, Mr. Adams, Mr. Mayer, Dr. Meyer, Mr. Moschel, Mrs. Plumb, Mr. Pogue; no, none; absent, Mr. Cleary, Mrs. Freeman, Mr. Horner, Mr. Karraker, Mr. Wieland.

CONTRACT FOR LAUNDRY WORK

The Comptroller presented also a recommendation that a contract with the Hicks Laundry Company, of Danville, made for two years in 1937, be abrogated, and that the offer of the White Line Laundry to take over the contract on the basis of their bid made in 1937 be accepted. On motion of Mr. Adams, these recommendations were adopted.

EXTENSION OF LEASE OF ILLINOIS U N I O N

The Comptroller also presented a recommendation that the lease of the Illinois Union building be continued on a monthly basis, with the stipulation that an agreement will be concluded not later than October 1, 1938, and that the University reserve the right to exercise the option given by the present lease to take over the operation and management of the entire building by September 1, 1938. On motion of Mr. Moschel, the extension of this lease was authorized as recommended; and the matter of the acquisition of the Union Building and the Arcade Building was referred to the special committee for study and report. At this point, Dr. Meyer withdrew.

PLANS FOR DORMITORIES

Director Havens presented blueprints and plans for dormitory buildings to be constructed on the drill field west of the George Huff Gymnasium. During the discussion of these plans, Mr. Cleary returned to the meeting.
