LABORATORY FEE IN HOME ECONOMICS (27) A recommendation from the Dean of the College of Agriculture that the laboratory fee in H o m e Economics course No. 14 ( H o m e Management) be increased from $16.00 to $25.00 for the Summer Session. O n m o t i o n of M r . K a r r a k e r , t h i s fee w a s a u t h o r i z e d a s r e c o m mended. AGREEMENTS FOR DEVELOPMENT AND DISTRIBUTION OF CERTAIN VARIETIES OF SWEET CORN AND LIMA BEANS (28) A report that the Secretary and Comptroller of the Board have been authorized to execute for t h e University agreements with the following companies for cooperation with the Agricultural Experiment Station in the development and further distribution of certain varieties of sweet corn and lima beans originated at the University: 1. Rogers Brothers Seed Company, of Chicago, two agreements, one covering sweet corn and the other lima beans. 2. McCrea Seed Company, Incorporated, of Santa Barbara, California, agreement covering the Illinois Baby Potato Lima Bean. These agreements conform in all essential respects to the form used in similar agreements with other seedsmen.

On motion of Mr. Karraker, this action was confirmed.

EXTENSION OF AGREEMENTS FOR COOPERATIVE INVESTIGATIONS (29) A report of the extension of the following agreements for cooperative investigations, the original agreement in each case having been approved by the Board of Trustees: 1. National W a r m Air Heating and Air Conditioning Association, investigation of " W a r m Air Furnaces and Furnace Heating Systems" for one year from April 15, 1938. T h e Association agrees to contribute $5,000 for the research program during that period. 2. American Society of Heating and Ventilating Engineers, investigation of heating and ventilation for one year from August I, 1938. Trie Society agrees to contribute $600 for the research program during that period. O n m o t i o n of M r . K a r r a k e r , t h i s a c t i o n w a s c o n f i r m e d . PURCHASES RECOMMENDED (30) A recommendation that the following purchases be authorized: 1. Sheets, pillow cases, bed spreads, wash cloths, bath towels, and pads for the McKinley Hospital as follows: H . W. Baker Linen Company, New York City: 100 doz. sheets and 60 doz. pillow cases $1 m Marshall Field & Company, Chicago: 15 doz. Ripplette Bed Spreads 189 F. K. Robeson, Champaign: 5 doz. mattress pads 53 Carson Pirie Scott and Company, Chicago: 30 doz. wash cloths 20 G. C. Willis, Champaign: 30 doz. bath towels 105

Competitive quotations were secured on these supplies, and orders for the first three items were placed with the companies noted, or to the lowest bidder in each case; the last two are not the lowest quotations but in the opinion of a textile expert in the Department of H o m e Economics and the Superintendent of McKinley Hospital they are the best values. 2. Five 60-tray catalog cases from Remington-Rand, Incorporated, at a price of $1,230 f.o.b. Urbana. This is a non-competitive item as these cases are
