careful study by the Provost and other officers, the Student Senate was advised that the University would consider offering a course which would take the form of a series of lectures, open to all students, by one or more trained individuals with a proper professional background. The Student Senate has recently expressed its judgment that the most effective service can be given through a credit course on marriage open only to seniors, rather than through a series of lectures. This counter-proposal will, of course, be given due consideration by the proper officials, but since the Student Senate, through its General Welfare Committee, has requested that the matter be brought to the attention of the Board, I am presenting it at this time. This report was received for record.

REQUEST OF ILLINOIS STATE FLORISTS' ASSOCIATION

(24) A request from the Illinois State Florists' Association that the University allocate more funds for research and extension work in floriculture than it has heretofore. A delegation from the Association is also here today to appear before the meeting in support of its request. The following representatives of the Association were introduced: George J. Ball, President, W e s t Chicago; William G. Loveridge, Secretary, P e o r i a ; Leonard Vaughan, Chicago; P . A. W a s h b u r n , Bloomington; James Sykora, Chicago. Dean H . W . M u m f o r d and Professor J. C. Blair were also introduced. Mr. Vaughan, acting as spokesman, presented a request that additional provision be made for work in floriculture in research and extension. The Executive Committee took this matter under advisement.

LABORATORY FEE FOR SUMMER COURSE IN ANATOMY

(25) A request from the Dean of the College of Medicine for authorization to offer a summer review course for undergraduates in Anatomy to be known as "Course 8o, Dissection" and covering a period of three months, approximately from June 10 to September 10, and that a laboratory fee of $25.00 be established for this course. On motion of M r . K a r r a k e r , this fee w a s authorized as recommended.

PART-TIME SUMMER FEES IN T H E COLLEGE OF DENTISTRY

(26) A recommendation that the following fees for part-time work in the College of Dentistry during the summer be authorized: For six weeks or less— Residents of Illinois: Tuition $ 6 25 Infirmary 6 25

11 25 6 25 $17 50 For more than six weeks attendance the full summer term tuition and infirmary fee for full time work will be assessed. This is $25.00 for residents ($12.50, tuition, and $12.50, infirmary fee), and $35.00 for non-residents ($22.50, tuition, and $12.50, infirmary fee). On motion of M r . K a r r a k e r , these fees w e r e authorized as recommended.
