QUARTERLY REPORT OF THE COMPTROLLER (23) T h e quarterly report of the Comptroller to the Board of Trustees as at September 30, 1936.

This report was referred to the Finance Committee for consideration.

REQUEST OF STATE DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC HEALTH FOR SPACE IN MEDICAL AND DENTAL BUILDING (24) T h e Board has had under consideration a request from the State Department of Public Health for the assignment of space in the second unit of the Medical and Dental Laboratories, now under construction, for laboratories, offices, and other facilities in which to carry on certain of its diagnostic work, and also space for a new Division of Industrial Hygiene. T h e request includes laboratory and office equipment for these activities. For a number of years the University has been housing in the quarters of its Department of Bacteriology, at Urbana, a branch laboratory of the Department of Public Health. A report on this arrangement is submitted herewith for the information of the Board in connection with its consideration of the request of the State Department for additional space in the Chicago building.
