This statement was received and the President of the University was requested to send copies to the members of the Board, and the matter was made a special order of business for the next meeting of the Board.

RESIGNATIONS AND CANCELLATIONS

The Secretary presented for record the following list of resignations and cancellations.

Coombs, Robert, Instructor in Surgery, in the College of Medicine—cancellation effective September 1, 1936. Robbins, A. lone, Clerk and Typist in the Accounting Division of the Business Office—resignation effective December 5, 1936. Weinfeld, Gustav F., Associate in Pediatrics, in the College of Medicine— cancellation effective September 1, 1936. APPOINTMENTS MADE BY THE PRESIDENT

The Secretary presented also for record a list of appointments made by the President of the University.

Baker, James Gerard, Cataloger in the Library, on three-fourths time, for ten months beginning November 1, 1936, at a cash compensation at the rate of seventy-five dollars ($75) a month (this supersedes his previous appointment). (October 31, 1936) 1 Bullen, Janet Gertrude, Cataloger in the Library, on three-fourths time, for ten months beginning November 1, 1936, at a cash compensation at the rate of seventy-five dollars ($75) a month (this supersedes her previous appointment). (October 31, 1936) Cooper, Helen Margaret, Cataloger in the Library, on three-fourths time, for ten months beginning November 1, 1936, at a cash compensation at the rate of seventy-five dollars ($75) a month (this supersedes her previous appointm e n t ) . (October 31, 1936) Dykhuizen, Harold D., Assistant in Surgery, in the College of Medicine, for nine months beginning December I, 1936, without salary. (November 17, 1936) Engelhard, Herbert H., Assistant in Obstetrics and Gynecology, in the College of Medicine, for ten months beginning November 1, 1936, without salary. (October 30, 1936) Fulton, Elizabeth Mills, Resident in the Division of Anaesthesia, in the College of Medicine, for six months beginning January 1, 1937, at a cash compensation at the rate of twenty-five dollars ($25) a month plus maintenance (including room, board, and laundry) furnished by the State Department of Public Welfare. (November 20, 1936) Learner, Aaron, Instructor in Pathology, Bacteriology, and Public Health, in the College of Medicine, for ten months beginning November 1, 1936, without salary. (November 7, 1936) Leppla, Mrs. Martha Bond, Cataloger in the Chicago Medical and Dental Library, on three-fourths time, for ten months beginning November 1, 1936, subject to the rules of the Civil Service Commission, at a cash compensation at the rate of one hundred six dollars twenty-three cents ($106.23) a month. (October 31, 1936) Markus, Chris Walter, Assistant in Zoology, on one-fourth time, for three months beginning November I, 1936, at a cash compensation at the rate of thirty dollars ($30) a month. (October 31, 1936) McCauley, William Edward, Special Research Assistant in the Administration Department in the Agricultural Experiment Station, on one-fourth time, beginning November I, 1936, and continuing until further notice, at a cash compensation at the rate of thirty-five dollars ($35) a month. (November 4, 1936) Ocasek, William C , Assistant in Medicine, in the College of Medicine, beginning November 11, 1936, and continuing through August 31, 1937, without salary. (November 17, 1936)
