CHANGE IN STATUS AND SALARY OF DR. A. J. NEDZEL

(4) A recommendation from the Dean of the College of Medicine that Dr. Alexander J. Nedzel be promoted to the rank of Associate in Bacteriology, on full time, at a salary of $250 a month, effective February 1, 1930. I recommend approval. O n motion of M r . Fisher, this r e c o m m e n d a t i o n w a s approved.

APPOINTMENT OF DR. GERHARDT VON BONIN AS ASSOCIATE IN A N A T O M Y

(5) A recommendation from the Head of the Department of Anatomy, concurred in by the Dean of the College of Medicine, that Dr. Gerhardt von Bonin, Prosector in Anatomy at the University of Leyden, be appointed Associate in the Department of Anatomy at an annual salary rate of $3,000 beginning April 15, or as soon as he is able to report for duty. I recommend approval. O n motion of M r . Trees, this appointment w a s m a d e .

RESIGNATION OF MISS RUTH M. CALDWELL

(6) A report of the resignation of Miss Ruth M . Caldwell, Assistant to the Dean of W o m e n , effective February 1, 1930. This report w a s received for record.

LEAVE OF ABSENCE FOR PROFESSOR C. W. PARMELEE

(7) A request from Professor Cullen W . Parmelee, Head of the Department of Ceramic Engineering, for a sabbatical leave of absence under the rules for one year beginning September 1, 1930. The Assistant Dean of the College (acting in the absence of the Dean) recommends that this leave be granted and, since satisfactory arrangements have been made for carrying on his work in his absence, I concur. O n motion of M r s . Busey, this leave w a s granted.

LEAVE OF ABSENCE FOR DIRECTOR HUFF

(8) A recommendation that Director George A. Huff be granted leave of absence for six weeks during the winter, with full pay. On motion of Mrs. Evans, this leave was granted.

LEAVE OF ABSENCE FOR MISS MARIE M. HOSTETTER

(9) A recommendation from Director P. L. Windsor of the Library School that Miss Marie M . Hostetter, Associate in Library Economy, be given leave of absence from February 1, to September 1, 1930, on account of her health. I recommend that Miss Hostetter be granted this leave, on pay during the month of February and without pay for the balance of the academic year. O n motion of M r s . Grigsby, this leave w a s granted.

LEAVE OF ABSENCE FOR ASSISTANT PROFESSOR W. L. ROOSA

(10) A report from the Director of the School of Music that Assistant Professor W . L. Roosa of the Violin Department has undergone, a serious operation and will be absent for three or four weeks from January 28, and a recommendation that he be given sick leave for four weeks or such time as may be necessary for his recuperation. Some of his work can be taken care of by one of his colleagues, but it will be necessary to employ some one else while Mr. Roosa is away. I recommend that Mr. Roosa be given sick leave, the period and terms to be at the discretion of the President of the University. O n motion of M r . Trees, this r e c o m m e n d a t i o n w a s concurred in. APPROPRIATION FOR FELLOWSHIPS AND SCHOLARSHIPS (11) A recommendation that $25,000 be appropriated for graduate fellowships and scholarships in the budget for the year 1930-31. On motion of Mr. Barr, this recommendation was approved.
