The Purchasing Agent recommends, and the Supervising Architect and President Kinley concur in his recommendation, that the order for thefirsttwo items be placed with the Allis Chalmers Manufacturing Company at a total cost of $5,876 and for the last two items with the American Well Works at a total cost of $1,567, all payable from the State appropriation. O n motion of Mr. Barr the orders for these pumps were placed with the two companies as recommended. The Executive Committee adjourned. J. W . Armstrong, Chairman George A. Barr ARCHITECTS FOR CHICAGO BUILDINGS Mrs. Grigsby, for the Committee on Buildings and Grounds, presented the following report: The Committee on Buildings and Grounds to which was r f r e the matter of eerd selecting an architect for the Chicago medical building reports as follows: The Committee held two meetings and gave the matter full consideration. W e recommend the employment of Granger & Bollenbacher as architects for this building on a basis of 6 per cent commission for their services to include full architectural service. George A. Barr, Chairman Helen M . Grigsby W. L. Noble F. H. Simpson On motion of Mr. Simpson, this report was adopted. On motion of Mrs. Busey, the employment of Granger & Bollenbacher was authorized as recommended. RENEWAL. OF LOAN TO MR. M. M. HART President Armstrong, for the Finance Committee, reported that f arrangements for the renewal of the loan to Mr. M . M . Hart of Benton (Minutes, June n , 1929, page 255) had not been completed. On motion of Dr. Noble, the Finance Committee was authorized and directed to extend the loan made to Mr. M . M . Hart, for $15,000 due June 16, 1929 (Board Minutes, September 20, 1928, page 4), five years from date of maturity, or until June 16, 1934, on the following conditions: 1. That the payment of the loan be guaranteed by Judge W. H. Hart. 2. That $500 of the principal (with interest) be paid by August 15, 1929. 3. That $500 of the principal be paid yearly, besides the interest, to be paid by the last interest date each year. 4. That $2,500 in addition to the $500 annual payment, besides the interest, be paid on the principal on or before December 15, 1932. LANDSCAPING THE CAMPUS Mrs. Grigsby, for the special committee on landscaping the campus, to which M r . Vitale's report was referred, made a report of progress.
