PROFESSOR McKENZlE DETAILED TO AMERICAN UNION IN EUROPE UNIVERSITY

(23) A request from the American University Union in Europe that the University give Professor Kenneth McKenzie leave of absence on one-half pay to become Director of its Italian Branch in Rome. By the action of the Board on March 12, 1918, (page 729) I was given authority to designate a member of the University staff to act as the representative of the University at the headquarters of the American University Union in Europe. Under that authority, I have appointed Professor McKenzie to undertake this work at a salary of $2,000 for one year from September 1, 1918. The American University Union will assume the rest of the expense which may be necessary in connection with this important task.

On motion of Mr. Carr, the action of the President in this matter was approved.
