On motion of Dr. Montgomery, the action of the President of the University in offering the summer courses in physical training was approved.

INCREASE OF F A C I L I T I E S IN DENTISTRY.

(18) A statement of the need of additional laboratory space and equipment for the College of Dentistry. The present space allotted to this college is sufficient for about one hundred students. It will be necessary to restrict the registration to this number or to set aside and equip space in the Dental College Building to accommodate the expected increase in the number of students.

On the recommendation of President James and on motion of Mrs. Evans, the President of the University was authorized to make provision in the Dental Building for additional students in dentistry.

ADDITIONAL SPACE ASKED FOR GOLF LINKS.

(19) A request from the University Golf Club for the addition of twenty acres on the south and east sides of the present golf links, on the ground that the present space is so small as to make the game dangerous.

On the recommendation of President James, this request was referred to the Committee on Buildings and Grounds for consideration and report.

PLAY-GROUND FOR WOMEN.

(20) A request from Miss Gertrude E. Moulton, Director of Physical Training for Women, that the ground west of the forestry and east of the agricultural plots numbered 601 to 610 be set aside as an additional playground for women. This includes a quadrangular tract extending west from the northwest corner of the present forestry fence along the north line of the University property about 250 feet, thence south about 455 feet, thence east about 250 feet, thence north about 455 feet to the starting point.

On motion of Dr. Montgomery, this request was granted.

PURCHASE OF FORBES PROPERTY.

The Finance Committee presented a recommendation concerning the price to be paid for the Forbes property, which was referred to them at the annual meeting of March 10, 1914, for consideration and report (see page 730).

We recommend the purchase of the Forbes property at a price not to exceed ten thousand dollars.

On motion of Dr. Montgomery, the recommendation of the Finance Committee was approved and adopted.

SITE FOR WOMEN'S RESIDENCE HALLS.

The Finance Committee presented also a report on the available sites for the proposed women's residence halls. On motion of Mrs. Henrotin, the report was received and the secretary was instructed to prepare copies thereof for distribution among the members of the board.

LAND FOR AGRICULTURAL EXPERIMENTS.

Dr. Montgomery brought up the question of the policy of the University with respect to the acceptance of deeds of land in various parts of the State for agricultural experimentation, and, after some discussion, it was voted, on motion of Mrs. Henrotin, that the President of the University be directed to make a recommendation concerning the procedure of the University in accepting gifts of land for this purpose.
