APPOINTMENTS MADE BY T H E PRESIDENT OF T H E UNIVERSITY.

The secretary presented the following report of appointments made by the President of the University under the authority of the Board of Trustees, which was received for record:

m Becker, Georgia, Stenographer in the Department of Dairy Husbandry, beginning wnen she reports for duty and continuing until further notice, at a salary of sixty-five dollars ($65) a month. (March 12, 1914.*) Bond, Ethel, Instructor in the Summer Session of the Library School, for six weeks beginning June 22, 1914, at a salary of one hundred seventy-five dollars ($175) for the session. (March 12, 1914.) Brownfield, Lelah, Stenographer in the office of the Courses in Business Administration, beginning March 1, 1914, and continuing until further notice, at a salary of fifty dollars ($50) a month. (March 16, 1914.) fBurton, Lawrence V., Assistant in Bacteriology, for five months, beginning February 1, 1914, and continuing until June 30, 1914, at a salary of ninety dollars ($90) a month; this appointment superseding his former appointment at a salary of - sixty dollars ($60) a month. (April 1, 1914.) fCarson, Harry Y., Scientific Assistant on the Staff of the Supervising Architect, beginning March 1, 1914, and continuing for a period not to exceed three months, at a salary of one hundred twenty-five dollars ($125) a month. (March 25, 1914.) fDexter, Lydia A., Bibliographer in the Illinois Survey, beginning April 1, 1914, and continuing until June 30, 1914, at a salary of seventy dollars ($70) a month. (April 11, 1914.) fPox, R. E., Laboratory Assistant in Electrotherapy in the Laboratory of Dr, Fantus in the College of Medicine, to give four hours' service a week, beginning February 1, 1914, and continuing until June 30, 1914, at a total compensation of thirty-three and one-third dollars ($33.33) for the period named. (April 6, 1914.) Gardner, John J., Instructor in Agriculture in the Summer Session of 1914, at a salary of one hundred fifty dollars ($150) for the session. (April 17, 1914.) Gatward, Walter A., Research Fellow in the Engineering Experiment Station, for two years beginning September 1, 1914, with an annual stipend of five hundred dollars ($500). (March 17, 1914.) fGrant, Dudley H., Assistant in Chemistry in the College of Medicine, beginning when he reports for service and ending June 30, 1914, at a salary of seventy-five dollars ($75) a month. (March 25, 1914.) fGraves, Charles E., Exchange Assistant in the University Library and Lecturer on Exchanges in the Library School, beginning April 1, 1914, and ending August 31, 1914, at a salary of one hundred dollars ($100) a month, vice J. Hodnefield. (March 30, 1914.) fHakanson, A. G., Laboratory Assistant in Mechanotherapy in the Laboratory of Dr. Fantus in the College of Medicine, to give four hours' service a week, beginning February 1, 1914, and continuing until June 30, 1914, at a total compensation of thirty-three and one-third dollars ($33.33) for the period named. (April 6, 1914.) Hall-Quest, Alfred L., Assistant in Education in the Summer Session of 1914, at a salary of one hundred dollars ($100) for the session. (April 17, 1914.) Harlan, C. L., Assistant in Education in the Summer Session of 1914, at a salary of one hundred dollars ($100) for the session. (April 17, 1914.) Hart, Eliza, Stenographer in the State Water Survey, at a salary of fifty dollars ($50) a month; beginning November 1, 1913; this appointment superseding her previous appointment at a salary of forty-one and two-thirds dollars ($41.66) a month. (November 5, 1913.) Hayes, James B., Mechanician and Instrument Maker in the Department of Physics, at a salary of ninety dollars ($90) a month, beginning September 1, 1913, and continuing until further notice; this appointment superseding his previous appointment at seventy dollars ($70) a month. (September 20, 1913.) Holley, C. E., Assistant in Education in the Summer Session of 1914, at a salary of one hundred dollars ($100) for the session. (April 17, 1914.)
