The President presented the following matters for consideration: .SECRETARY OP THE BOARD APPOINTED. 1. Report of the special committee appointed to recommend some one as secretary of the board from Oct. 1/1910. 'CHICAGO, Sept. 19, 1910. To the Board of Trustees of the University of Illinois: A special committee of the board which was appointed to recommend a candidate for the office of secretary of the Board of Trustees to succeed the present incumbent, whose resignation will take effect Oct. 1, 1910, nominates for the position, Mr. C. M. McConn, Assistant Registrar." Respectfully submitted, ALLEN F. MOORE, LAURA B. EVANS, W. L. ABBOTT, Special Committee. The report of the committee was adopted and Mr. McConn, who had already heen appointed Eegistrar in the University from October 1, 1910, was thereby appointed secretary for the unexpired term ending with the annual meeting in March. SALARY OF PRINCIPAL OF ACADEMY. 2. A request from Mr. McConn that his salary as principal of the Academy be paid up to Sept. 1, 1910, in accordance with the usual custom in the case of people who resign similar positions in the University.
