O n motion of M r . M c L e a n , it was voted t h a t t h e B u s i n e s s A g e n t b e r e q u e s t e d to report to t h e C o m m i t t e e on B u i l d i n g s a n d G r o u n d s t h e salaries of all employes of t h e University, except those o n t h e corps of instruction. T h e bill of t h e E l e c t r i c L i g h t i n g a n d P o w e r C o m p a n y for power furnished i n S e p t e m b e r a n d October, 1894, a m o u n t i n g t o seventye i g h t dollars, was ordered p a i d from c u r r e n t funds. T h e C o m m i t t e e o n B u i l d i n g s a n d G r o u n d s m a d e t h e following r e p o r t , which w a s adopted, a n d a m o u n t n a m e d was ordered p a i d t o G . W . Finance Committee. O n m o t i o n of M r . M c L e a n it was voted t o p a y Messrs. Y e a g e r & S c h u l t z $4,900, leaving $100 t o b e r e t a i n e d till some f u r t h e r work h a d b e e n done. O n motion of M r . M o r g a n t h e S e c r e t a r y was d i r e c t e d t o write M r . C . W . S p a l d i n g with r e g a r d t o t h e e m p l o y m e n t of Professor M c M u r r y , a n d also with r e g a r d t o t h e rule of t h e B o a r d c o n c e r n i n g t h e e m p l o y m e n t of t h e professors i n t h e U n i v e r s i t y . T h e following resolution was a d o p t e d on motion of M r . M o r g a n : Besolved, That we greatly regret that'our venerated wise counsellor and colleague, John H. Bryant, should have felt it imperative, on account of his advanced age and enforced absence in the south, to resign his position as Trustee, and that we extend to him our most cordial best wishes for the remainder of his long and eminently useful life. T h e Secretary is i n s t r u c t e d t o forward a copy of t h i s resolution t o Mr. Bryant.
