T h e s e s u m s to be t a k e n from t h e specific a p p r o p r i a t i o n s m a d e b y t h e legislature, so far as proper. T h e r e p o r t was approved a n d a p p r o p r i a t i o n s made as r e c o m mended. Mr. M c L e a n offered t h e following resolution, w h i c h was adopted:: WHEREAS, The Board at this session has by resolution adopted a plan looking to the appointment of a Superintendent of Buildings and Grounds, and properly policing the buildings and property of the University, therefore; be it Besolved. That the President of the University, the chairman of the Committee on Buildings and Grounds, and the Business Agent, be appointed a committee to provide a plan for carrying out the business contemplated by the action of the Board relative to the appointment of a superintendent of the buildings and grounds, and to report at the next meeting of the Board. A claim m a d e by R o b i n s o n & B u r r , of C h a m p a i g n , was referred to> t h e C o m m i t t e e on B u i l d i n g s a n d G r o u n d s . T h e B o a r d adjourned to meet at 2 o'clock p . m.

SESSION OF THURSDAY

AFTERNOON.

T h e B o a r d m e t p u r s u a n t to a d j o u r n m e n t , t h e same m e m b e r s b e i n g p r e s e n t as in t h e m o r n i n g . I t was voted t h a t w h e n t h e B o a r d a d j o u r n e d it should a d j o u r n to m e e t at 9 o'clock a. m., J u n e 27, 1895, at t h e P a l m e r H o u s e , Chicago. T h e following resolution was offered by Mr. Bullard, a n d was adopted: WHEREAS, The state has appropriated $150,000.00 for a new library building; and WHEREAS, This amount of money will be in the treasury of the University after July first, next, therefore be it Besolved, That the Committe on Buildings and Grounds be, and hereby is, instructed to enter at once on the consideration of the erection of thisbuilding. —8 U.
