C U R R I C U L U M IN LIBERAL ARTS A N D SCIENCES (26) On June 30, 1945 (Minutes, page 515), the Board approved a recommendation from the University Senate for a new curriculum in Liberal Arts and Sciences, subject to the concurrence of Dr. George D. Stoddard, President-elect of the University. This was done, and after further consideration of one detail about which he had raised a question, the curriculum was approved by him. This report was received for record. REPORTS OF THE FINANCE COMMITTEE At this point, Mr. Williamson, for the Finance Committee, presented the following reports. REPORT OF A U D I T OF UNIVERSITY OF ILLINOIS FOUNDATION The Finance Committee reports that it has received the report on the audit of the University of Illinois Foundation for the year ended June 30, 1045, by Arthur Young and Company, auditors. It includes a certification of the balance sheet and statement of income, expenditure, and surplus. This report was received for record. REPORT OF AUDIT OF UNIVERSITY ACCOUNTS The Finance Committee reports that it has received the report of Arthur Young and Company, auditors of the University, on their examination of the accounts of the University for the year ended June 30, 1945. The report includes a certification of the balance sheet, the statement of current income and expenditures and current funds surplus, and summaries of fund transactions. A copy has been filed with the Secretary of the Board. This report was received for record. APPOINTMENT OF UNIVERSITY AUDITORS The Finance Committee recommends that Arthur Young and Company, Certified Public Accountants of Chicago, again be engaged as auditors for the year ending June 30, 1946, on the basis of per-diem rates and expenses, with the understanding that the aggregate charge will not exceed the following sums: General University Audit $4 300 University of Illinois Foundation 500 Athletic Association 500 These maximum costs are based on the assumption that if the audit discloses extraordinary needs beyond the scope of the usual examination, further
