MEETING OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE UNIVERSITY OF ILLINOIS July 2 1 , 1 9 8 3 The July meeting of the Board of Trustees of the University of Illinois was held in Chicago Room C, Chicago Illini Union, Chicago campus, Chicago, Illinois, on Thursday, July 21, 1983, beginning at 8:30 a.m. President William D. Forsyth, Jr., called the meeting to order and asked the secretary to call the roll. The following members of the board were present: Mrs. Galey S. Day, Dr. Edmund R. Donoghue, Mr. William D. Forsyth, Jr., Mr. Ralph C. Hahn, Mr. George W. Howard III, Mr. Albert N. Logan, Mr. Dean E. Madden, Mrs. Nina T. Shepherd, Mr. Paul Stone. Governor James R. Thompson was absent. The following nonvoting student trustees were present: Mr. James B. Bolen, Jr., Chicago campus; Mr. Craig R. Milkint, Urbana-Champaign campus. Also present were President Stanley O. lkenberry; Dr. Morton W. Weir, vice president for academic affairs; Dr. Donald N. Langenberg, chancellor, University of Illinois at Chicago; Dr. John E. Cribbet, chancellor, University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign; and the officers of the board, Dr. Craig S. Bazzani, comptroller (and vice president for business and finance of the University); Mr. James J. Costello, university counsel; and Dr. Earl W. Porter, secretary. 283
