The Vssociation holds a m e e t i n g on March Mid of each year, the a n n i v e r s a r y of the founding of t h e I ' n i v e r s i t y . A haiapiet is nerved e a r h in t h e e v e n i n g , after which various toasts a r e r e s p o n d e d to. T h e a t t e n d a n c e is usually t w e n t v five or m o r e , and a very pleasant time always a t t e n d s each m e e t i n g The second annual m e e t i n g was held at Tacoma, with a banquet at t h e Hotel Tacoma. The third m e e t i n g vras held at Seattle, at t h e h o m e of Mr. and Mrs. II. c . Kstep, t h e Seattle m e m b e r s furnishing t h e banquet and e n t e r t a i n i n g t h e visiting m e m b e r s . T h e fourth a n n u a l m e e t i n g was held at Olympia. at the h o m e of Mr. and Mrs. Robert F. W h i t h a m , with t h e aid of t h e Olympia m e m b e r s . A very ,4 9 pleasant feature of this m e e t i n g was t h e g r a n d c h i l d r e n of t h e University * (the children of Mr. and Mrs. W h i t h a m ) waiting on t h e table. T h e fifth a n n u a l meeting, held March 11th, 1896, was at t h e new h o m e of Mr. a n d Mrs. (i. \V. B a l l a r d , at523 North J Street, Tacoma, w h e r e t h e usual good time was h a d , and a warm fraternal spirit prevailed, t h e Tacoma m e m b e r s assisting in e n t e r t a i n i n g t h e visit iiig m e m b e r s . T h e present officers of t h e association a r e : W. F. Oliver, of Buena, King County, Wash., P r e s i d e n t ; II. B. Slauson, Seattle, Vice-President. T h e office of Secretary and T r e a s u r e r is filled by J . E. Lilly, B u r k e Building, Seattle. T h e m e m b e r s h i p now n u m b e r s a p p r o x i m a t e l y fifty persons, including t h e wives and hiiHbands of former s t u d e n t s . Any one who has a t t e n d e d t h e University as a student can become u mem h e r .
