Hut we have; lived to He© Our own Tniversity Of Illinois," Properly backed by the State, With her people strong and great. And the boys. Hung in each society hall, There are pictures on the wall, Young and fair. But the owners of them now, Have furrows on their brow, And silvered hair. Some are carving out a name, High upon the shaft of fame, Pure as snow. While others sweetlv rest 'Neath the sod their footsteps prest, Long ago.

So let us pause and think, As from t h e cup of life we drink On our way. How to make our Alma Mater Still more glorious and greater, Every day.
