Lumber Company, 1015 West State Street, Rockford, Illinois RALPH CHAPMAN, Class of 1915, Farwell, Chapman & Co., 208 South LaSalle Street, Chicago Professor Moyer' replaces Professor Robert G. Bone of the Department of History, Director of the Division of General Studies, and Acting Dean of the College of Education. Mr. Chapman replaces Mr. H a r r y E. Schlenz of the Class of 1927. Both of them have served on the Board since March, 1049. The other nominations are for reappointments.

On motion of Mrs. Watkins, these appointments were made as recommended. Mr. Grange asked to be recorded as heartily endorsing the President's nominations for the two appointments.

CONSTRUCTION A N D OPERATION O F A TELEVISION STATION (8) At this point, President Stoddard requested permission to withdraw, without prejudice as to future consideration, a report and recommendations which had been submitted to the members of the Board of Trustees in advance of this meeting relating to the establishment and operation of a non-commercial television station by the University.

This permission was granted.

SPECIAL APPROPRIATIONS FOR NONRECURRING EXPENDITURES (9) The Committee on Nonrecurring Appropriations recommends assignments of funds as follows: 1. Departments of Theoretical and Applied Mechanics and Civil Engineering, purchase of equipment $ 7S °°° 2. Department of Physics, remodeling in Physics Laboratory 8 500 3. Department of Architecture, improvement of lighting in Architec. ture Building 28 000 4. School of Music, purchase of music and records for Music L i b r a r y . . . 7 500 5. Department of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering, improvement in Moves Laboratory and Chemistry Annex 78 891 6. Department of Entomology, remodeling and equipment 3 500 7. Physical Plant Department, University's share of Urbana-Champaign Sanitary District expenses 6 700 The above allocations are from the General Reserve Fund (208 091) 8. Chicago Professional Colleges Research and Educational Hospitals, remodeling, assignment to be made from lapsed balances in Hospitals operating budget 9 650 College of Pharmacy, equipment, assignment to be made from the Chicago Professional Colleges' nonrecurring funds 7 200 Physical Plant Department, improvement of lighting in eight rooms used by the College of Pharmacy in the Dentistry-Medicine-Pharmacy Building, assignment to be made from the General Reserve Fund I 900 Total $226 841 I recommend that these appropriations be made as indicated.

REASSIGNMENT OF RESEARCH AND EDUCATIONAL HOSPITALS FUNDS (10) The Board of Trustees has approved the reassignment of $914,500 of funds in the budget for the operation of the Research and Educational Hospitals since
