BOARD OF TRUSTEES

MEETING OF T H E EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE

[February 23

On call of the Chairman, and pursuant to formal notice, the Executive Committee of the Board of Trustees of the University of Illinois met in the Faculty-Alumni Lounge of the Mini Union Building at Urbana, Illinois, on Monday, February 23, 1953, beginning at 10:30 a.m. Mr. Park Livingston, Chairman, and Mrs. Frances B. Watkins were present. Mr. Herbert B. Megran was absent. Also present were the other members and officers of the Board and officers of the University listed above.

BUSINESS PRESENTED BY THE PRESIDENT OF THE UNIVERSITY

The Executive Committee considered the following reports and recommendations from the President of the University.

AWARD OF CERTIFIED PUBLIC ACCOUNTANT CERTIFICATES (1) The Committee on Accountancy recommends that the certificate of Certified Public Accountant be awarded to the following candidates who have qualified under Section 4b of the Accountancy Act of 1943, as amended in 1951, by passing a written examination given on November 12, 1952, by the Special Board of Examiners:

APPOINTMENTS TO T H E FACULTY (2) T h e following new appointments to the faculty of the rank of Assistant Professor and above, and involving tenure, have been approved since the previous meeting of the Board of Trustees. 1. JULIUS HEYDEMANN, Assistant Professor of Radiology, College of Medicine, beginning January I, 1953, at an annual salary of $8,500 (GY85), until further notice but not later than August 31, 1953, as replacement for Dr. Roger Harvey in Radiology while Dr. Harvey serves as Acting Dean. 2. LEONARD R. KYLE, Assistant Professor of Agricultural Economics, Extension Service in Agriculture and H o m e Economics, beginning February 1, 1953, at an annual salary of $6,000 ( D Y ) . 3. S H U - C H I N LEE, Assistant Professor of Hygiene and Medical Adviser for Women, Health Services, beginning September 1, 1953, at an annual salary of $7,200 ( D Y ) .
