The Secretary presented the minutes of the meeting of the Board of Trustees of July 16, 1952, press proof copies of which have previously been sent to the members of the board. On motion of Mr. Nickell, these minutes were approved as printed on pages I through 365, inclusive.

BUSINESS PRESENTED BY THE PRESIDENT OF THE UNIVERSITY

The Board considered the following reports and recommendations from the President of the University.

APPOINTMENTS TO THE FACULTY (2) The following new appointments to the faculty of the rank of Assistant P r o fessor and above, and involving tenure, have been approved since the previous meeting of the Board of Trustees. 1. WARD W. BAUDER, Professor of Rural Sociology, Department of Agricultural Economics, beginning February 1, 1953, at an annual salary of $7,200 (C-D 5 o, S-DY50).
