Engineering. Original request: $367,202. Additional teaching staff of 15, principally in Electrical Engineering, Physics, and Mechanical and Civil Engineering. Additional research staff of II in various departments, and the transfer of many others from contract research funds to University funds. Nonacademic staff of 21, including 15 in Electrical Engineering (chiefly transfers from special funds), and also in Administration, Theoretical and Applied Mechanics, Mechanical Engineering, Mining and Metallurgical Engineering, and Physics. Wages, expense and equipment in the amount of $73,830, chiefly in Administration, Electrical Engineering, Physics, Mechanical, Civil, and Mining Engineering. Graduate College. Original request: $154,078. Research staff of 6J4, particularly for the Electronic Digital Computer program which has become a general University service unit.
