CONTRACT FOR CONSTRUCTION OF SANITARY SEWER EXTENSION ( n ) The Director of the Physical Plant and the Comptroller recommend award of a contract for $36,463 to the Illiana Construction Company, Urbana, the lowest bidder, for the construction of an extension of the sanitary sewer to the site of the new Law Building. Funds are available in the state appropriation for construction of this building, subject to release by the Governor. I concur and recommend that the Comptroller and the Secretary of the Board be authorized to execute this contract.

On motion of Mr. Nickell, this contract was awarded, as recommended, and the Comptroller and Secretary of the Board were authorized to execute the same by the following vote: Aye, Mr. Grange, Mr. Herrick, Mrs. Holt, Mr. Johnston, Mr. Livingston, Mr. Megran, Mr. Nickell, Mrs. Watkins; no, none; absent, Mr. Bissell, Mr. Hickman, Mr. Stratton.

CONTRACT FOR ELECTRICAL EQUIPMENT IN UTILITY DISTRIBUTION SYSTEM TO SERVE LAW BUILDING AND VETERINARY CLINIC BUILDING (12) The Director of the Physical Plant and the Comptroller recommend award of a contract of $23,996 to the Northern States Company, Inc., Chicago, the lowest bidder, for the following installations: Additional switch gear in underground load center No. 8 located at Oak Street and Gregory Drive for a subfeeder cable from load center No. 8 to Law Building and for the transfer of the Stadium subfeeder cable to the new switch gear, all necessary to the provision of electric service to the new Law Building, charged to the appropriation for that building $18 891 Additional switch gear in underground load center No. 3 north of the Stock Pavilion and for installation of a subfeeder cable from load center No. 3 to the Veterinary Clinic Building, charged to the appropriation for that building 5 105 $23 996 Funds are available in the state appropriations for these buildings. In the case of the Law Building they are subject to release by the Governor. I concur and recommend that the Comptroller and the Secretary of the Board be authorized to execute this contract.

CONTRACT FOR EXTENSION OF UTILITIES TO HOME ECONOMICS, VETERINARY C L I N I C , AND LAW BUILDING SITES (13) T h e Director of the Physical Plant and the Comptroller recommend award of a contract for $176,935 to the George S. Walker Plumbing and Heating Company, Decatur, for the following installations of utilities extensions: Installation of a 14 inch steam main in the present tunnel along Gregory Drive, from Abbott Power Plant to Euclid Avenue, and for installation of a 6 inch return main from Euclid Avenue to the Library junction, to permit the steam distribution system to carry the additional load of the Home Economics Building, to be charged to the appropriation for this building $103 380 Steam and electrical conduit from present service lines at the intersection of Peabody Drive and Goodwin Avenue to the Veterinary Clinic Building, charged to the appropriation for that building 40 517 An electric conduit line from Peabody Drive and Goodwin Avenue to the Veterinary Clinic Building, charged to the appropriation for that Building 13 386
