REPORT OF GIFTS AND GRANTS RECEIVED BY T H E UNIVERSITY (31) The following gifts and grants of funds received by the University have been accepted by the President in accordance with the statutory procedure and are now being reported for official record. For the Colleges and Schools at Urbana-Champaign A. Undergraduate Scholarships, Prizes, and Other Financial Aids 1. Mrs. Margaret Anderson, Joliet, Illinois, $1,200 to be added to the William Anderson Memorial Scholarship in Music in memory of her late husband. (The amount received to date is $11,800.) 2. Lou Boudreau Trust Fund (a trust set up in the National Bank of Harvey, Illinois, by citizens of that community), $232 for the Lou Boudreau Scholarship awarded to two male graduates of Thornton Township High School attending the University. 3. Brook Hill Farms, Inc., Chicago, $100 for the continuation of the Brook Hill Farms Scholarship in dairy technology. 4. Campus Chest, University students' fund-raising organization, $1,764.75 for scholarships. 5- Chicago Farmers, Chicago, $500 for a scholarship in the College of Agriculture. 6. Class of 1950, $1,000 for scholarships. 7. Haeger Potteries, Dundee, Illinois, $80 for scholarships in ceramic engineering. 8. Elizabeth Hamilton Scholarships, through the University of Illinois Illini Achievement Fund, $2,000 for the continuation of two $500 scholarships, one in music and the other in medicine, during the years 1949-1950 and 1950-1951. 9. Illinois Association for the Crippled, Inc., $300 for a scholarship in occupational therapy. 10. Illinois Congress of Parents and Teachers, $600 for scholarships for the academic year 1950-1951. 11. Illinois Federation of Women's Clubs, $1,200 to be added to the Occupational Therapy Scholarship Fund. ( T h e amount received to date is $16,700.) 12. Illinois Mining Institute: a. Alfred E. Pickard Coal Company, $200 for a scholarship in mining engineering. b. Peabody Coal Company, $1,200 for six scholarships ($200 each) in mining engineering. c. $400 for a scholarship in mining engineering. 13. Kroger Company, Cincinnati, Ohio, $1,200 for scholarships for students in agriculture and home economics in the amount of $200 each. 14. James F . Lincoln Arc Welding Foundation, $1,000 for four scholarships ($250 each) in the College of Agriculture to students majoring in agricultural engineering.
