TRANSFER OF LAND T O MEDICAL CENTER STEAM COMPANY

(17) On July 28, 1949 (Minutes, page 493), the Board of Trustees authorized the transfer of certain properties to the Medical Center Steam Company, including some parcels of property acquired from the Medical Center Commission for $1,000 (Minutes, November 29, 1949, page 948). A portion of the Chicago Transit Authority right-of-way has been condemned and an alley adjoining property deeded to the Steam Company has been vacated. The Medical Center Commission proposes to transfer these parcels to the University as a part of the $1,000 purchase and authority is required for the transfer of the property from the University to the Medical Center Steam Company. I recommend the adoption of the following resolution. Authorising Conveyance of Certain Real Estate to Medical Center Steam, Company Resolved, That the Board of Trustees of the University of Illinois, in furtherance of the purposes of the steam contract dated as of July I, 1949. between Medical Center Steam Company and this Board, hereby authorizes, empowers, and directs the Comptroller and the Secretary of this Board, in the name of and on behalf of this Board, to execute and deliver to Medical Center Steam Company, an Illinois Corporation, a warranty deed conveying to such Medical Center Steam Company the following described real estate, to wit: The West Twenty-six and seventy-five hundredths (26.75) feet of Lots One (1) to Ten (10), both inclusive, and the West Twenty-seven (27) feet of Lots Eleven (11) to Sixteen (16), both inclusive, all in Block Two (2) in Commissioners' Subdivision of Blocks Fourteen (14), Fifteen (15), Sixteen (16) and Twenty-one (21) in Assessor's Division of the East Half (E}4) of the Southeast Quarter (SEK) of Section Eighteen (18), Township Thirty-nine (39) North, Range Fourteen (14) East of the Third Principal Meridian, also The West Twenty-seven (27) feet of Lots One (1), Two (2) and Three (3) in Block Twenty (20) in S. H. Sweet's Resubdivision of Blocks Eighteen (18), Nineteen (19) and Twenty (20) in Assessor's Division, aforesaid, also The East Half (EJ4) of the North and South vacated alley lying west of and adjoining the above described property, also Lot Twenty (20) in Block Two (2) in Commissioners' Subdivision, aforesaid; together with the West Half (Wj4) of the North and South vacated alley lying East of and adjoining said Lot Twenty (20); Situated in the City of Chicago, County of Cook and State of Illinois; and Resolved further, That the Board of Trustees of the University of Illinois hereby authorizes, empowers, and directs the Comptroller and the Secretary of this Board, in the name of and on behalf of this Board, to execute and deliver to said Medical Center Steam Company, a quitclaim deed conveying the following described real estate, to wit: All of the North and South vacated alley lying West of and adjoining Lots One (1) to Sixteen (16), both inclusive, in Block Two (2) in Commissioners' Subdivision of Blocks Fourteen (14), Fifteen (15), Sixteen (16) and Twentyone (21) in Assessor's Division of the East Half (EJ4) of the Southeast Quarter ( S E ^ ) of Section Eighteen (18), Township Thirty-nine (39) North, Range Fourteen (14) East of the Third Principal Meridian, West of and adjoining Lots One (1), Two (2) and Three (3) in Block Twenty (20) in S. H. Sweet's Resubdivision of Blocks Eighteen (18), Nineteen (19) and Twenty (20) in Assessor's Division, aforesaid, East of and adjoining Lot Six (6) in the Subdivision of Lots Twenty-nine (29), Thirty (30), Thirty-one (31) and Thirty-two (32), in Block Two (2) in Commissioners' Subdivision, aforesaid, East of and adjoining Lots Seventeen (17) to Twenty-eight (28), both inclusive, in Block Two (2) in Commissioners' Subdivision, aforesaid, and East of and adjoining Lots Twentynine (29), Thirty (30) and Thirty-one (31) in Block Twenty (20) in S. H. Sweet's Resubdivision, aforesaid; Situated in the City of Chicago, County of Cook and State of Illinois.
