ADDITION TO GENERAL CONTRACT FOR ANIMAL SCIENCES LABORATORY (18) The Director of the Physical Plant and the Comptroller recommend an increase of $2,245.10 in the contract with the Sumner S. Sollitt Construction Company for the construction of the Animal Sciences Laboratory to provide for waterproofing of certain floors. This was not included in the plans and specifications. It has now been determined that use of five rooms will require cleaning by drenching them with water, so that the floors in these rooms should be treated with membrane waterproofing to prevent leaks to the rooms below. T h e contractor has offered to do the additional work for the amount indicated, and the architects advise that it is a reasonable estimate. Funds are available in the state appropriation "Construction of Animal Science Laboratory." I concur and recommend that the Comptroller and the Secretary of the Board be authorized to execute this contract. O n m o t i o n of M r . ADDITION TO GENERAL CONTRACT FOR CONSTRUCTION OF VETERINARY MEDICINE BUILDING (19) The Director of the Physical Plant and the Comptroller recommend an increase of $2,800 in the contract with the John Felmley Company for the construction of the Veterinary Medicine Building to provide for weather-stripping of windows. When the plans and specifications for this building were sent out for bids, a number of items, including weather-stripping for exterior windows, were omitted to keep the cost of the building within the state appropriation. It is now clear that sufficient funds will be available for some of these items. T h e quotation of $2,800 for weather-stripping has been checked by the architects for the building and they consider it a fair price. It is estimated that weatherstripping the exterior windows will reduce the heating cost approximately $400 a year. Funds are available in the state appropriation for "Construction of Veterinary Medicine unit." I concur and recommend that the Comptroller be authorized to execute this change in the contract.
