answering telephone and door bell, receiving and delivering messages, supervise student nurses' "sign out" book; maintain discipline and established policies within the Residence; refer to the Manager of Nurses Residence any deviation from normal conduct of residents or any other problem pertaining to the Residence; visit and assist with the care of sick n u r s e s ; arrange for trays for sick nurses. QUALIFICATIONS: High school graduation, Registered Nurse desirable; courteous; kindly manner; pleasing personality; tact; good judgment; ability to get along with others; minimum age thirty-five. Nurses' Aide DEFINITION: Under direct supervision to assist Nurses to perform routine duties in hospital wards and divisions. DUTIES BY EXAMPLE: Care of patient's unit and ward equipment; give bed and tub baths to patients not acutely ill; make beds; assist patients in and out of bed and transport them to other departments; give and remove bed pans and urinals; check clean linen and collect soiled laundry; do errands; assist with the serving of meals and feeding of patients; pass nourishment and drinking water between meals; give non-professional care to patients; mend and prepare gloves for sterilization; carry out correct technique in an isolated a r e a ; weigh patients; collect specimens; admit patients. For those who have successfully passed the examination in the In-Service Training Program the following duties may be performed under close supervision of a Nurse: Take temperature, pulse, and respiration; measure intake and output; give oil and retention enemas. P e r f o r m related duties as directed by the Nurse in charge. QUALIFICATIONS: Grade school graduation; high school graduation desirable; good health and physical condition; ability to get along well with patients and Nurses. Minimum age seventeen. Supervisor, Housing Maintenance DEFINITION: Under supervision to see that buildings are properly maintained and that all equipment therein is kept in satisfactory operating condition. DUTIES BY EXAMPLE: To write work orders for needed maintenance and building repairs, check the operation and report necessary repairs to mechanical building equipment; plan long range building and equipment repair, replacement, and painting programs, and to perform related duties as requested. QUALIFICATIONS: High school education, mechanical aptitude, three years of experience in construction work or in the operation of mechanical building equipment, good physical condition, neat personal appearance, ability to perform duties with a minimum of disturbance, good judgment, tact, dependability, minimum age twenty-six. Supervisor, Assistant Housing Maintenance DEFINITION: Under direct supervision to assist in properly maintaining buildings and equipment therein. DUTIES BY EXAMPLE: T O assist in preparation of work orders for building maintenance and repairs; help in the inspection of mechanical building equipment and report necessary repairs; assist in the planning of long range building and equipment maintenance programs and painting p r o g r a m ; and to perform related duties as requested. QUALIFICATIONS: Grade school education, mechanical aptitude, some experience in construction work or in the operation of mechanical building equipment, good physical condition, neat personal appearance, ability to perform duties with the minimum of disturbance, good judgment, tact, dependability, minimum age twenty-two.
