BOARD OF TRUSTEES

[September 23

United States Government during the fiscal year ending J u n e 30, 1956, for construction of an addition to the Meteorologic Laboratory Building at the University of Illinois Airport to provide additional facilities needed for the research work being done in this building. This will include the University's share of contract funds received for indirect costs and is an appropriate use of such funds as they are paid for use of University facilities and to provide additional new facilities. T h e building will belong to the University and upon termination of the W a t e r Survey research projects will be available to the Institute of Aviation. I recommend approval.

On motion of Mr. Swain, this allocation of funds was approved by the following vote: Aye, Mr. Bissell, Mr. Herrick, Mrs. Holt, Mr. Johnston, Mr. Livingston, Mr. Megran, Mr. Nickell, Mr. Swain, Mr. Williamson; no, none; absent, Mr. Stratton, Mrs. Watkins.

REAPPROPR1ATION OF UNEXPENDED BALANCES AS AT J U N E 3 0 , 1 9 5 5 (11) T h e Comptroller recommends that the following balances in appropriations for special services and projects not completed on June 30, 1955, be reappropriated for the fiscal year beginning July I, 19SS, in accordance with usual policy. In addition to the appropriations listed below, unexpended balances on June 30, 1955, in departmental appropriations, up to 5 per cent of the original appropriation, or the amounts encumbered in the Business Office, whichever were larger, were carried forward and will be available in 1955-56 to the various departments concerned.
